Help with Capster
Capster has no support desk and no chat widget. It has one person, who wrote the app, reading one inbox. Email arjeshvadadoriya@gmail.com and say what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead. Most of what gets asked is answered below first.
It helps to include your iPhone model, your iOS version, and the Capster version from Settings inside the app. Never send a password or a payment card — nobody at Capster will ever ask for either.
Common fixes
My transcription failed. What now?
Transcription needs a network connection, because the audio is sent to a speech-to-text service. Check the connection and try again. A failed attempt does not spend one of the 5 free transcriptions — the count only goes down when one succeeds.
The captions got some words wrong.
Captions are machine-generated, and accuracy drops with background noise, strong accents, crosstalk, and unusual names. Tap any caption in the editor to fix the words, split a line, or retime it. Read the whole transcript before you publish, every time.
I paid but Pro is not unlocked.
Open Settings inside Capster and tap Restore purchase, or use Restore on the paywall. Make sure the device is signed in to the Apple Account that bought the subscription. If it still does not unlock, email the receipt and it will get sorted out.
How do I cancel my subscription?
In iOS Settings: tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Capster, then Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, or the next one is charged. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
How do I delete my data?
Delete a project in the app to remove that project and its files. Deleting the app removes all of it — projects, videos, captions and the free-tier count all live on the device. There is no account to close, because Capster does not have accounts.
Does Capster run on iPad or Mac?
Capster is an iPhone app and needs iOS 16.0 or later. It is not built for iPad or Mac, and there is no web version. On an iPad it can only run the way any iPhone app does, at iPhone size, which is not a good way to use it.
Known limits
These are not bugs and they are not going to change this week. Worth knowing before you email.
- Capster is iPhone only, portrait only, and needs iOS 16.0 or later.
- Transcription needs a network connection. Everything else — editing, styling, preview and the export — runs on the device.
- Captions are machine-generated. They are not suitable as the only source of legally required accessibility captions, or of medical, legal or evidentiary transcripts.
- Free installs get 5 transcriptions and clips up to 2 minutes. The count is kept on the device rather than in an account, so it does not carry across to another phone. A Pro subscription, by contrast, belongs to your Apple Account and restores on any device signed in to it.
- Exports are saved to your photo library. Capster does not post to TikTok, Reels or Shorts for you.
